Al Truesdell is an attorney with in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group.
As a Florida lawyer, Mr. Truesdell represents employers in labor and employment law matters. His practice involves preventive counseling as well as litigating disputes before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations. He has represented employers of all sizes, from family businesses to large corporations, in both the private and public sector. He has represented cities, counties and branches of state government in addition to a wide array of businesses.
Mr. Truesdell has handled a variety of labor and employment law cases, including those involving race, age, disability, religion, national origin, gender and pregnancy discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, wage-and-hour disputes, employee benefits, non-compete agreements, medical leave, employee handbooks, hiring and firing practices, and Internet usage. He has represented employers in unemployment compensation appeals hearings. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Truesdell is a member of the Labor and Employment and Appellate Law sections of The Florida Bar. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association Labor and Employment Committee. He serves as the Legislative Liaison for the Volusia/Flagler Society for Human Resource Management and is a member of the National Society of Human Resource Management.
Mr. Truesdell has presented seminars and written materials on numerous employment topics to employers, human resource professionals, private employers, government agencies, chambers of commerce and other groups in Central Florida. He has published articles in various legal journals and newspapers and has written book sections for numerous seminars.
Mr. Truesdell has been Of Counsel with the firm since 2005. He graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Florida. |
